Puy du Fou was, until recently, in negotiations with the Renson family to buy the Wild World of Aywaille. The French will ultimately not be selected.

“The desire is to continue to develop and open a second park by 2030,” explains David Nouaille, director of international development at Puy du Fou. “We look at different countries in Europe, including Belgium.”

Wallonia today remains “very well placed” despite the failure of the Wild World of Aywaille, he assures.

A site belonging to the Walloon Region and able to meet French requirements already seems to stand out. The company is looking for an area of nearly 150 hectares, which has a natural character and is easy to access.

A list of three sites will soon be finalized. The management of Puy du Fou is then expected in Wallonia at the beginning of December to visit the various sites.

According to the French company, a new park represents an investment of 200 to 300 million over a first phase of development and represents around 700 direct and 2,000 indirect jobs.
