An “Oscar” for Puy du Fou. This Saturday, March 16, the Vendée theme park received the Thea Award for best show in the world in Los Angeles for The Mime and the Starits big novelty for 2023. The award, awarded on the occasion of the 30e ceremony of the Themed Entertainment Association (Tea), is one of the most prestigious in the theme park industry.
This show tells the love story between a gypsy and a movie star who meet at the beginning of the 20th century.e century, on a shoot. The spectator finds himself immersed in the film, with a spectacle which gives the incredible impression that everything is in black and white, from the actors to the decor. The latter, moreover, is in perpetual movement via an ingenious mechanism which gives the effect of experiencing a tracking shot for thirty minutes.

More than 20 million euros of investment
Puy du Fou invested more than 20 million euros in this original creation, including the construction of a custom-made theater. At the beginning of March in Las Vegas, it already received the Brass Ring Award for the most creative show, in the category of parks with more than 1 million visitors. The Vendéen complex, which presents several dozen performances every day transporting visitors to different eras of French history, recorded 2.5 million admissions in 2023, a record.
