Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they have a moral responsibility to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.

He told BRICS leaders the other day that he was deeply moved by the video of Palestinian children being operated on without anaesthesia.

‘ This is a very important, humanitarian and noble mission. “We need to help people who are suffering in the current events,” Putin said during a video conference with the Russian cabinet.

Putin said that delivering aid to the people of Gaza is a sacred responsibility.

He said that while the current agreement is temporary, Russia wants a lasting peace in the region. He also said that this can only be implemented as per the previous UN resolutions which called for the creation of two states of Palestine and Israel.

He said that according to the way they voted in the UN General Assembly, it is clear that the other members of the BRICS are also taking the same position as Russia. He also claimed that BRICS members can play an important role in resolving the decades-long conflict.
