A plane carrying Ukrainian-Jewish refugees, who fled the war, landed at Ben Gurion Airport in Israel, as part of an operation to rescue hundreds of Jews in Ukraine.

According to Al-Hurra correspondent, this is the second plane that arrives on Sunday, after the first carried about 100 Jewish children who were in an orphanage in Ukraine.

Israel has set up a hotline for Jews in Ukraine, who are seeking to emigrate because of the war.

Israeli Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked said that, at the current pace, Israel will absorb, until the end of this month, more than 15,000 Ukrainian citizens, adding that it intends to formulate a more balanced policy in the coming days, against the backdrop of the continued entry of large numbers of Ukrainians into the country.

She explained that the government is taking the necessary measures, in preparation for the absorption of larger numbers of new arrivals from Ukraine.

The minister confirmed that the Hebrew state has received more than 2,000 Ukrainian refugees since the beginning of the crisis, noting that 90% of them do not meet the conditions of the “Law of Return” to Israel.

Earlier reports indicated that about 300 new immigrants from Ukraine, via European countries, are expected to arrive in Israel on Sunday.

Since the start of the Russian invasion on February 24, the Hebrew state has taken a conservative approach to it due to its good relations with Kyiv and Moscow, in an attempt to maintain delicate security cooperation with Russia, which is militarily present in Syria.

Israeli media said that Bennett had reservations about Ukraine’s request to supply it with weapons, but he pledged to provide 100 tons of non-military aid.
