Putin signs law on social support for widows of combatants

Russian President Vladimir Putin approved fixes to the law “On Veterans”, expanding the measures of social support for the spouses of the dead combatants.

Previously, social support measures were provided for widows who live alone or with minor children. The amendments allow all spouses of the victims to receive support, regardless of the composition of their family. Widows can count on social support until they remarry.

Now the following measures of social support are provided for the widows of the military: monthly payments, 50 percent compensation for housing and communal services, preferential provision of vouchers to a sanatorium.
