Pursuant to the decree, the registration lasts from April 1 to July 15, 2023, and applies to 147,000 people.
Conscription for military service applies to Russian citizens between the ages of 18 and 27.
The document also provides for the exemption from military service of those soldiers, sailors, and non-commissioned officers whose service time has expired. The Russian government, regional authorities and ranking committees are responsible for the ranking.
Currently, the Duma is debating the draft law on the gradual raising of the minimum age of emergency military service to 21 and the upper age to 30. Andrej Kartapolov, the chairman of the defense committee of the lower house of the parliament, announced that this year’s spring and autumn call-ups will still be sent out in accordance with the currently effective legislation.
In the fall of 2022, 120,000 people were called up for military service, and last spring, 134,500.
