Putin opens transport artery that reduces travel time between the two capitals

It is noteworthy that the Russian President arrived at the opening ceremony of the transport artery driving a Russian Lada Aura car.

At the ceremony held in Russia’s Tver region, attended by officials and workers who contributed to the construction of the new road, the Russian president said Russia had taken a new step to strengthen logistics and new transport corridors in the country.

He added that travel between Moscow and St. Petersburg will become 30-35 minutes faster with the opening of the new section of the M-11 highway, noting that a lot of work has been done and good results have been achieved.

The Russian President explained that the new highway (section) is a modern road with a length of 60 kilometers and is a bypass section around the city of Tver.

He stressed that the opening of new roads in Russia is the key to achieving a high standard of living for citizens, as logistics services are enhanced, road safety is achieved, and the economy is developed.

The Russian President also inaugurated another 100-kilometre-long highway via video link in the city of Togliatti in Russia’s Samara region. He said: “Today we are also inaugurating a 100-kilometre-long bypass road in the city of Togliatti. This route will contribute to increasing the comfort and safety of car traffic in the city and reduce traffic congestion. It will also contribute to strengthening the export, logistics, industrial and tourism potential of the Volga region.”

Putin also expressed his thanks and gratitude to the Avtodor team, the company responsible for building and servicing the M-11 highway, for their dedication to work, and congratulated them on the 20th anniversary of the company.

The travel time between the capital, Moscow, and the cultural capital of Russia, St. Petersburg, has become shorter, following the completion of the construction of the new M-11 road for cars and trucks.

The M-11 “Neva” is a paid alternative route, passing through the Moscow, Leningrad, Tver and Novgorod regions, its length is regarding 700 km, and the maximum permitted speed is 110 km per hour.
