RUSSIA has launched more missiles and drones and attacked energy facilities across Ukraine, with authorities reporting power outages and water supply cuts in many places, including parts of Kyiv.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said 15 regions in the country were attacked by Russia, using drones, cruise missiles and the Kinzhal hypersonic missile.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 100 missiles and about 100 attack drones were launched by Russia overnight, the most intense missile and drone attack by Russia in weeks.
The attack comes as Ukraine claims new territory in a major cross-border offensive into Russia in the southern Kursk region. Russian forces continue to advance into eastern Ukraine, approaching the transport hub of Pokrovsk.
Meanwhile, Russia has not claimed that it used high-precision weapons to attack critical infrastructure for Ukraine.
Kyiv’s military administration chief Serhiy Popko said Ukrainian air defences shot down about 15 missiles and 15 drones targeting the capital Kyiv during the Russian strikes overnight. (BBC/Z-2)
