Russian President Vladimir Putin has formed a special working group that will oversee the actions of authorities, municipalities and public figures in terms of mobilization.
The seven-page order is published on the official portal legal information 20 December. Andrey Turchak, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council, Secretary of the United Russia General Council, has been appointed head of the group.
In addition to him and his three deputies, there are 27 other members in the group. Among them are parliamentarians, journalists, including war correspondents Semyon Pegov and Yevgeny Poddubny. Mikhail Zvinchuk, the creator of the Rybar telegram channel, also made the list.
The group will ensure the interaction of both chambers of parliament, government agencies and public organizations on issues of mobilization, military registration, material support, social and legal protection of participants in the special operation and their families.
Among the tasks: participation in explanatory work on mobilization, preparation of proposals for “creating and maintaining mobilization capacities”, patriotic education of youth, “formation of a mobilization human reserve”, improving the work of military registration and enlistment offices and organizing places for mobilized accommodation.
The working group is authorized to request from the authorities and receive information that falls within its competence. The Ministry of Defense will help organizationally and technically.
The president expects monthly reports on the work done. The order comes into force from the date of signing.
