President Putin stressed that Russia is determined to continue its unwavering support for Syria in its quest to defend its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity and ensure its national security and stability.
He stressed that the continued development of Russian-Syrian relations as a whole is fully consistent with the interests of the peoples of the two countries and is in line with the approach of promoting peace and stability at the regional and international levels.
Putin congratulated Syria, its leadership and people, on this occasion, wishing the Syrian people well-being and prosperity. He said, “Moscow and Damascus have gained rich experience in bilateral cooperation in many different fields over the past decades, and that thanks to joint efforts, remarkable successes have been achieved in combating the forces of international terrorism in Syrian territory.”
For his part, Assad stressed that the two countries have exchanged support for eighty years and have remained committed to principles and dignity despite being subjected to all forms of pressure and attempts to subjugate and break their will, and that Russia’s steadfastness in its positions is now establishing a multipolar world.
In his telegram, Assad, on his own behalf and on behalf of the Syrian people, expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the friendly Russian people, who have for decades woven strong ties with the Syrian people that have established mutual trust and understanding, created a blending between the two societies, and enriched bilateral relations.
He said that Russia’s policies and positions confirmed its position as a force that seeks goodness and peace and is based on principles, values and respect for the sovereignty of states, wishing Russia and its friendly people further progress and victories, and for the historical Syrian-Russian relations to continue to grow and flourish.
