Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping plan to meet but he did not give a specific timetable for a possible visit by Putin to Beijing.
Asked regarding his possible visit Putin in Chinathe Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Beijing might be considered preparation for “upcoming contacts at the highest level”.
“Indeed, such contacts are planned and their feasibility and necessity is understandable given the high level of friendly relations between the Russian Federation and China,” Peskov told reporters.
“But once more we think it’s too early to clarify the timetables. We’ll let you know regarding everything as soon as we’re ready.”
According to protothema, Reuters reported last month that Putin will travel to China in May for talks with Si.
