Prime is available in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions

2021 was the year when cinema theaters in the country were closed for months in the wake of the second wave of Kovid. When the theaters reopened following the second wave, a handful of hits were born in various language cinema areas. Among them, ‘Allu Arjun’ starrer ‘Pushpa’ was one of the best films to hit the theaters last year. The film, which was released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi, grossed over Rs 300 crore at the global box office. Following the theatrical release, the film, which is all set to release on ODT through Amazon Prime Video, is reported to have made significant gains there as well.
Apart from Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions will be available to stream Prime Video from January 7. According to India Today, Amazon Prime paid Rs 27-30 crore to the makers for the four language versions. This is the best OTD deal you can get for an following theater release. Earlier, it was reported that Amazon Prime Video paid Rs 30 crore for Malayalam movie Drishyam 2, which was released as a direct OTD.
Meanwhile, just hours before the release of Pushpa’s ODT, the Hindi version of the film was released in the US today. The Hindi version has been screened in over 100 theaters. The Hindi version of a Telugu film received a good box office response in India as well. The Hindi version alone has grossed Rs 70 crore in India so far. Allu Arjun plays a sandalwood smuggler in the action thriller directed by Sukumar. Fahadh Fazil from Malayalam was the protagonist. It was also Fahad’s Telugu debut film.
