The Regency Government has once more exported mangosteen fruit to China
Purwakarta. The 600 tons of mangosteen exported is 10% of the harvest of the Wanayasa variety mangosteen farmers this year.

The release of exports of mangosteen fruit from Wanayasa was carried out by the PJ Regent of Purwakarta, Benni Irwan in Pusakamulya Village, Kiarapedes District, Thursday (7/3).

Benni said that exports of the Wanayasa variety of mangosteen had already begun
patented by regulation of the Minister of Agriculture. Mangosteen varieties
Wanayasa is one of the varieties that has been recognized in Indonesia since
2016 ago. For 2024, 600 tonnes of initial exports will be exported
to China.

According to Benni, Purwakarta’s total mangosteen production will be in 2022
reaches 3 tons. Increasing to more than 3.4 tons in 2023. There has been quite a significant increase even though the amount is still relatively small.

“I hope that in the future the yield or production of mangosteen will increase
quantity and quality. “We hope that Wanayasa mangosteen will not only be exported to China, but also to other countries such as Australia,” he continued.

Benni added that to be able to win the market, several feasibility standards must be met, such as quantity, quality and continuity.
