Purim: The Jerusalem Municipality Revamps Its Logo And Taunts Tel-Aviv

The logo parodies singer Miley Cyrus in her ‘Flowers’ music video as revenge once morest ex-husband Liam Hemsworth

The municipalities of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv have been known to stage their supposed rivalry and prank each other. This time, it is Jerusalem that has “reopened hostilities” by taking advantage of the approaching Purim holiday to revamp the city’s famous lion emblem, and send a nod to the coastal metropolis.

On its Twitter account, the municipality has thus modified its logo and dressed the famous lion by parodying Miley Cyrus in its latest clip, Flowers. Draped in a gold dress and wearing dark glasses in the image of the singer, the proud animal takes the lyrics of the song and proclaims “I can buy myself flowers” (I can buy flowers myself) by tagging Tel Aviv Municipality.

Released in January, the tube Flowers is considered both a kind of feminist anthem and an act of revenge by Miley Cyrus once morest the alleged infidelities of her ex-husband, actor Liam Hemsworth.

The singer’s fans indeed claim that the clues to this effect are legion in the clip: the singer appears there wearing an all-gold lamé dress, which for many would be a clear reference to that worn by actress Jennifer Lawrence when she had walked the red carpet of the Golden Globes on the arm of Liam Hemsworth, her partner in the films Hunger Games and her supposed lover. The house that serves as the backdrop for the clip would also be the one where Miley Cyrus’ ex-husband took his many conquests.

Fine debt analysts “revenge song” also note that the words of Flowers – in which the singer claims she can give herself flowers, dance to herself and talk to herself – would mirror the song’s lyrics upside down When I was your man by Bruno Mars that Liam Hemsworth had one day dedicated to Miley Cyrus and who proclaims: “I should have bought you flowers (…) take you to every party, because all you wanted was dance” flowers and taking you to all the parties because all you wanted to do was dance).

The last clue that did not escape fans was the date of the song’s release: January 12, the day before Liam Hemsworth’s birthday. It’s clear, with this logo the break is more than consummated between Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv…. Until next time!
