Punta verde, the beach 15 km from Las Grutas chosen by locals and discovered by tourists

Punta Verde is a wild and quiet resort that is the most chosen by the residents of the place, although, over time, it has been gaining popularity among tourists. The sector is located a few meters from the center, in the vicinity of the Yacht Club. It is in San Antonio Oeste, the town that is 15 km from Las Grutas.

There the estuary is shown in all its splendor. It is the famous “tide”, as the townspeople call it. And it gets all the applause for its picturesque charm, although it does not have the spectacular sea that amazes on the coast of Grotto, nor the beauty that dazzles in Puerto San Antonio Este.

Here the beaches are made of dense sand, made up of tiny shells that creak slightly when walking on them. When the sea rises, they can be seen in the background, and they look like agates or ambers due to the intense shine they spread, filling the shore with tabby reflections, because they have all the shades of earth colors, from raw to intense yellow.

The locals take refuge in them from the heat because they know that, due to their particular geography, they are the first to receive the water that enters when the sea rises. And the last to be completely clear of liquid at low tide. So they’re always ready for a refreshing dip.

Swimming in them is quite an experience, because the estuary has gentle undulations and a pleasant temperature, to be fully enjoyed.

In the place, which through the years was gaining public, there are already two inns. One was inaugurated last season and offers activities throughout the day, including cafeteria, restaurant and live shows on weekends.

The other brings together an incipient sailing school of nautical sports, which works in a nice container. And it will remain there at least until a construction that is under construction is annexed, which will include a nautical nursery.

Kite surfing, windsurfing and wing foil classes are given on site. $15,000 is quoted the hour, and include all equipment. In addition they are rented stand up boards and kayaks, for $1500 an hour.

“We still have limited services because the idea is to promote everything nautical. In fact, there is also a colony here where we teach children how to enjoy nature, through these disciplines that are ideal for this area,” said Iván Carpintero, the kite “teacher” and the rest of the practices.

In this sector, however, there is not only a place for sport. Gastronomy shines with its varieties on the go, ideal for sharing something delicious at the edge of the water. The pizzas, by case, are obtained from $2000, and there are promos for chicken or vegetable sandwiches with a beer for $1,600 and $1,400, respectively.

In the case of cans Beer is $600, soda is $400, and flavored water is $700.
