Punjab govt 100 days: ‘Some plans good, lack of long term planning’

The first 100 days of the Punjab government have been completed and during this period the performance of the Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is being publicized through print and electronic media.

However, according to analysts, some projects are good in the performance of the Punjab government for a hundred days, but there is a lack of long-term planning and things that can be controlled on a day-to-day basis are being promoted more, which is a ‘long term’. It is not term planning but propaganda’.

The Punjab government has also released a booklet regarding its hundred days of performance, the list of which shows reference to 28 different departments, including the Department of Food, Education, Health, Environment, Industry and Trade, Information Technology. , Punjab Safe City Authority, Punjab Police, Human Rights, and Transport Department besides other departments. While the project named ‘Maryam Ki Dastak’ has also been started, in which according to the government, 65 more services will be started in all the districts of Punjab in the next three months.

Maryam Nawaz also gave a long speech during the budget speech in the House of Provincial Assembly on June 28 regarding the performance of these first hundred days, in which she not only discussed her performance but also criticized the opposition. .

Maryam Nawaz said that ‘what they did in 100 days they cannot do together in 300 years.’

He added during his speech in the provincial assembly: ‘We have done all the things we promised in 100 days.’

‘Drugs which were stopped in hospitals in the past have started to be found again. Free medicines are being given to patients in all government hospitals and free medicines are being delivered at people’s doorsteps.’

The Chief Minister of Punjab said: ‘Due to the difficult decisions of the Punjab government, the price of flour decreased significantly. Punjab has not only reduced the price of bread but has implemented it in the entire province.

He said that in 100 days, he did not accept the recommendation of any relative, acquaintance, friend or friend.

If the Chief Minister takes a look at the performance of Punjab for 100 days, the top 30 billion Ramadan package, establishment of virtual police station for women, free Wi-Fi at two hundred places in Lahore, delivery of free medicines to the people at their doorstep, Several projects like Mobal Medical Units and Clean Punjab were launched.

Regarding the performance of the Punjab government in this hundred days, analyst Wajahat Masood says that ‘Punjab is the only province where the government is also at the federal level. The work of the federal government is also visible in Punjab.

Speaking to Independent Urdu, Wajahat Masood said, “The booklet issued by Maryam Nawaz and raided by DGPR in which the performance of the first 100 days is stated, other governments do the same, including martial law.”

“The problem is that the government has not been able to set its own direction due to political reasons. The performance of this government is being told in terms of hours and days, the main reason being that other political forces are being kept under pressure by keeping Imran Khan and his party politically alive.

He further said that ‘Similarly, Maryam Nawaz is also working under pressure and in such a situation she is trying to prove her performance and running a government that has no permanent direction. However, it can be said that she is trying to perform even under pressure.’

Former Chief Minister of Punjab and analyst Hasan Askari says regarding the first hundred days of the Punjab government that ‘the performance of this hundred days was also conveyed to the public through advertisements, which also benefited by making the media happy. Gone because they get income from advertisements, be it print or electronic media.’

Hasan Askari says that Maryam Nawaz’s performance is a mixed bag. He has taken some steps which will temporarily benefit the people, but he has not clarified anything regarding the far-reaching problems of Punjab.

“Maryam Nawaz has tried to improve the health facilities and hospitals, this needs more attention so that the facilities reach the poor more because the population is such that they have to take more measures.”

He said that bread is cheap somewhere, flour was also cheap, but now some things have become expensive, other vegetables, pulses, etc. are expensive. I think they did not succeed in this.’

According to Hasan Askari, Maryam Nawaz has no long-term agenda. The only things they can promote every day are controlling them temporarily.’

“In the long term, some policies are not in their hands because they are directly related to the federal government, but the things that are in their hands, such as food and drink, reduce their prices, improve health and education facilities. Make it easy for the man. But there is no long-term planning in this either, only propaganda.’
