PULS 4 head of information Corinna Milborn presented the young female journalist award, PULS 4 donated 1,000 euros each.
Chief Reporter Manuela Raidl yesterday evening was awarded the Vienna Women’s Journalist Prize 2022 by the media women’s network. “Manuela Raidl is characterized by knowledge, precision and intellectuality. The summer talks that the political expert held with all party leaders were characterized by background knowledge. Raidl has been showing for years how complex relationships can be explained simply and thus made accessible,” the jury of the non-partisan network for journalists and women in media professions justifies the decision.
PULSE 4 Infochefin Corinna Milborn then presented the Young Female Journalist Award Eja Kapeller from “Dossier” (2021) and Christina Pausackl from “Die Zeit” (2022). The prize money of 1,000 euros for the young journalist prizes was donated by the Private broadcaster PULS 4.
Markus BreiteneckerManaging Director of the ProSiebenSat.1 PULS 4 Group: “As the moderator of the PULS 24 summer talks, top-class talk and discussion rounds and with her easy-to-understand explanatory pieces, PULS 24 chief reporter Manuela Raidl does great journalistic work every day. Manuela Raidl has been with PULS 4 since it was founded and is characterized by her broad knowledge and many years of experience. We are delighted with this success and congratulate you on this award!”
Corinna Milborn: “We have great young journalists in the country and we are proud to support two of them today. Both award winners put their finger in the wounds of the country and in doing so meet the highest journalistic standards. Eja Kapeller reliably writes and researches regarding topics that would otherwise fall by the wayside: from racism and sexism to long covid and care. And Christina Pausackl writes great reports and investigative research. Her meticulous research allowed her to name Wolfgang Fellner in connection with the allegations of sexual harassment for the first time. In doing so, she has transformed the country and a media industry that has been silent for years.”
Due to the war in Ukraine, a prize was also awarded to support Ukrainian journalists, the Bachmann Prize winner Tanja Maljartschuk on behalf of the Ukrainian journalist turn Kuryko accepted. “We honor quality journalists because their work plays a crucial role in democratic discourse”says Alexandra Maritza Wachterchairwoman of the women’s network media and journalist at PULS 24.
