Pulmonary diseases among those recovering from Corona

A study conducted by experts from the National Institute for Health Research in Britain revealed that people with post-Covid-19 syndrome suffer from abnormalities in the microstructure of the lung.

The experts’ report, published on the Oxford Center for Medical Research website, indicates that experts have discovered in patients with post-Covid-19 syndrome, lung diseases that are difficult to diagnose, as they suffer from difficulty in transmitting gases in the blood.

36 volunteers participated in this scientific study, including 13 healthy ones, and some of them had a mild form of “Covid-19” disease, yet they complain of shortness of breath even following several months of their recovery.

The report stated: “Researchers were able, with the help of magnetic resonance imaging and hyperpolarized xenon gas, to diagnose a disorder of the gas exchange process in patients who had contracted “long-term Covid” and were not hospitalized.”

The researchers stress that the traditional examination, including computed tomography, did not reveal any abnormalities in patients. According to the researchers, the consequences of this condition have not been determined, so more research is required in this area.
