Jesse Puljujarvi’s name has often been linked with the Montreal Canadiens over the past few years, and the opportunity to claim him off waivers may soon present itself.
At least that’s what TSN insider Chris Johnston said. Expect some movement from the Edmonton Oilers as they will soon remove Kailer Yamamoto’s name from the injured list.
“If he ends up on waivers, he’s easier to trade followingwards, since he can then go back and forth between the American League and the National League,” Johnston explained.
Puljujarvi seemed to have finally taken off last season with 36 points in 65 games. His end to the season and his playoffs, however, had been disastrous.
Troubles that continued this year, so much so that he was limited to 10 points, including only four goals, in 49 games.
Now 24, the imposing Finnish striker was the fourth overall selection in the 2016 draft.
