Two earthquakes of regular magnitude shook the city of Pucallpa, capital of the Ucayali region, reported the National Seismological Center of the Geophysical Institute of Peru (IGP).
The first telluric movement occurred at 04:00 hours and its epicenter was located in Ecuador, 16 kilometers northwest of the city of Pucallpa, capital of the Coronel Portillo province, and had a depth of 168 kilometers.

Two hours later, at 06:11, another seismic event of magnitude 5.6 was recorded and its epicenter was located 18 kilometers north of Pucallpa. According to the IGP, it had a depth of 159 kilometers and an intensity of III in that city in the central Peruvian jungle.

The Ucayali Civil Defense authorities have so far not reported personal or material damage as a result of this tremor.
The National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) recommends that in the event of an earthquake, remain calm and avoid panic. It is also necessary to prepare a family evacuation plan, verify the exit routes and have the emergency backpack.
Peru is located in the area called Pacific Ring of Firewhere approximately 85% of the world’s seismic activity is recorded.
