The Public Ministry (MP) presented this friday before the 4th Court of Control of Terrorism, in Caracas, “the elements of conviction to accredit the different criminal types to the 12 detained for the kidnapping and murder” of the university professor and Chavista militant Carlos Lanz.

This was detailed on Twitter by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab, who pointed out that in the imputation of the detainees there is also Maxiorisol Cumare “alleged intellectual author of the crime of hired assassins.”

Thursday afternoon also culminated “the police review” by Glenn Castellanos, “co-author of the hit man”.

The Cicpc Special Actions Brigade transferred Castellanos to the Palace of Justice for the accusation hearing before prosecutors from the Public Ministry.

Carlos Lanz, a university professor who disappeared in August 2020, according to the Prosecutor’s Office, was murdered with a firearm, in a crime planned by his wife, Maxiorisol Cumare, who was arrested along with 12 other people who participated in the event.

Saab assured on Wednesday that, although 13 arrests have already been made, the investigation continues, so he did not rule out other arrests of individuals linked to the kidnapping and murder of the professor.

The victim’s wife was charged with the crimes of contract killing, association to commit a crime, corruption and simulation of a punishable act.

According to the prosecutor, Castellanos is Cumare’s “extramarital partner” and revealed that it was she who planned the crime and the circumstances in which it occurred.
