Public Health will provide an update on monkeypox at 9:00 a.m.

The acting national director of public health, Dr. Luc Boileau, will provide an update on the situation of monkeypox in Quebec on Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

The press conference is prompted by a surge in cases of monkeypox, a disease that has emerged in several countries in recent weeks.

There would be regarding fifteen confirmed cases in Quebec, including 13 in Montreal. Currently, Quebec is the only province officially affected by the virus.

During his press briefing, Dr. Boileau will be accompanied by Dr. Geneviève Bergeron, medical officer, health emergencies and infectious diseases at the Montreal Regional Public Health Department and Dr. Caroline Quach, pediatrician, microbiologist-infectiologist at the CHU Sainte -Justine, full professor at the University of Montreal and president of the CIQ.
