Af only three quarters, the public external debt for the year 2021 already exceeds that established during the year 2020 (375.7 billion dirhams).
The Kingdom’s public external debt outstanding is around 376.5 billion dirhams, according to the statistics bulletin published by the Treasury and External Finance Department (DTFE). This sum constitutes approximately 34% of the country’s GDP (approximately 1108.5 billion dirhams).
According to the DTFE, the Moroccan Treasury benefits from the major part of this debt (201 billion dirhams). The remaining 175.5 billion dirhams are dedicated to public borrowing.
