PTTEP enters into 4 gas production sites “Erawan-Platong-Satun-Funan”

PTTEP has become the operator of the G1/61 and G2/61 projects in 4 fields: Erawan-Platong-Satun-Funan. go ahead with the plan Accelerate the increase in natural gas production for the country.

Mr. Montree Lawanchaikul Chief Executive Officer, PTT Exploration and Production Public Company Limited, or PTTEP, revealed that PTTEP has become the operator of the G1/61 Project and the G2/ Project. 61 On April 24, 2022, which is the first day of the Production Sharing Contract (PSC), while PTTEP is the operator in the Bongkot field. Or the G2/61 project already. In the transition of the operator of the G 1/61 project, PTTEP has set up an Operations Team (Warroom) at PTTEP’s office. large and at the gas production platform, including coordinating with the Department of Natural Fuels and the same operator closely To ensure a smooth, safe transition to natural gas production and to be able to continue producing natural gas to meet the country’s needs

“An important mission that PTTEP has always been aware of and is determined to undertake is Strengthening energy security for the country The entry into the operator of two large natural gas fields, which is like an energy artery. With a total gas production potential of 1,500 million cubic feet per day, or approximately 60% of the country, it is a great pride of PTTEP as a Thai energy company. We will strive to carry out our energy mission for the country and the Thai people to the best of our abilities,” said Mr. Montree.

In the production of natural gas of the G 1/61 project, although it is a transition of operators. (Operatorship Transfer), but most of the personnel are still the same personnel who have expertise. which has joined the mission for the goal of creating energy security for the country together

The production rate in the G 1/61 project that PTTEP took over from the original concessionaire at the end of the concession was at 376 million cubic feet per day. Because in the past, this gas field has not developed and drilled more production wells continuously. As a result, the production rate will be reduced further. In addition, PTTEP did not receive consent to enter the G 1/61 project area in order to prepare for development and drilling of production wells in advance according to the plan. even after being able to enter the area But it is considered to be delayed by about 2 years from the plan, so PTTEP needs to produce according to the remaining potential. Along with taking into account the safety of the entire gas production system, the initial production rate will be around 250-300 million cubic feet per day.

However, after this, PTTEP will proceed as planned to increase the production rate of the G 1/61 project, respectively, to 800 million cubic feet per day. By April 2024, 8 Wellhead Platforms will be expedited to install underwater pipes. Approximately 183 production wells were drilled and two additional drilling rigs were procured to drill 52 additional production wells from the original development plan, as well as to check the availability of production equipment and systems. This ensures that installations and equipment are ready and safe for production.

As for the implementation plan of the G2/61 project, which PTTEP is already the operator, Able to continue production according to the plan by producing natural gas from the Bongkot field at a rate of 700 million cubic feet per day

As for the plan to support natural gas demand during the G1/61 project is in the process of increasing production capacity, PTTEP has prepared a plan to increase gas production. from the Bongkot field, about 125 million cubic feet per day from the Arthit project, an additional 60 million cubic feet per day and from the Thailand-Malaysia Joint Development Area (MTJDA) project, an increase of approximately 30-50 million cubic feet per day. The total production volume will increase approximately 200-250 million cubic feet per day. to help reduce the impact on people and the country
