British parliamentarians have pledged to help “internationalize” the PTI’s narrative on the alleged threats and harassment it faces after being ousted from power in 2022.
According to a Dawn report, in a meeting held in the House of Lords, more than a dozen MPs heard the narrative presented by the PTI leaders. Zulfi Bukhari, Mehrabano and Sawar Bari met the British members in the committee room of the British Parliament and briefed them on the political and other challenges faced by the party in Pakistan, including the alleged rigging of elections, non-compliance with the rule of law and founder PTI Imran Khan. Topics such as censorship, arrests and abductions of activists were included, including long imprisonment.
Co-hosted by Conservative peer Lord Daniel Hannon and British Pakistani Labor MP Naz Shah, the event was attended by former Tory Home Secretary Priti Patel, Baroness Saeeda Warsi, Lord Tariq Ahmed of Wimbledon and Labor MP Naushaba Khan among others. attended
During his comments, the former Tory official said British parliamentarians “could internationalize this issue outside of the UK.

“I would like us to send a letter on behalf of our colleagues to elected members in the US and Australia,” he said. Also, several legislators asked the PTI leaders what “strong steps” could be taken by them to resolve the issue.
Lord Hannan said that as a friend of Pakistan we cannot remain indifferent to what is happening in a friendly country. I repeat this point that we are friends of Pakistan, this is not an anti-Pakistan meeting, it is a pro-Pakistan meeting.
