PTI has taken a big decision to get the symbol of ‘bat’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has decided to go to the Peshawar High Court against the Election Commission of Pakistan’s decision to declare the PTI intra-party election null and void and withdraw the election symbol of the bat.

PTI Central Information Secretary Moazzam Butt says that tomorrow they will file a writ against the Election Commission’s decision in the High Court, PTI’s central leaders will file a case in the High Court.

He said that the decision of the Election Commission is legally flawed, justice has not been done in the decision and is not being done.

Moazzam Butt said that we are not being given a level playing field, obstacles are being erected to participate in the elections.

It should be noted that three days ago the Election Commission of Pakistan declared the intra-party election of Tehreek-e-Insaf null and void and withdrew the election symbol of the bat.

A five-member bench headed by the Chief Election Commissioner declared the intra-party election null and void.

The judgment written by Ikramullah Khan said that the PTI had failed to hold intra-party elections.

The Election Commission, while withdrawing the election symbol from PTI, said that PTI will not get the bat symbol.

The decision said that Tehreek-e-Insaf did not follow the instructions given in the decision on November 23, 2023, and failed to conduct intra-party elections as per PTI’s 2019 Constitution, Election Act 2017 and Election Rules 2017.

He said that the certificate and Form 65 submitted by the alleged chairman on December 4 are rejected.

The commission’s decision said that by applying the provisions of Section 215 of the Elections Act, 2017, the PTI was disqualified for the electoral symbol for which it had applied.

A day before this development, the Peshawar High Court gave a summary decision to the Election Commission of Pakistan on the petitions of PTI and ordered the Election Commission to take a decision on December 22.

Reacting immediately after the Election Commission’s decision, it announced to challenge the decision.

Chairman PTI Barrister Gauhar while talking to private TV said that there were many reservations on the Election Commission from our first day and the thoroughness with which the Election Commission was looking at our case, was more than any other among the 175 political parties. Didn’t see the case that way.

He had said that we had conducted the election under our constitution and law, everything had been examined accordingly and we had asked the Election Commission which section or section was violated.

The PTI leader had said that we will challenge this case in the High Court and we have a plan B as well.

Gauhar Khan had categorically said that we will not boycott the elections.

It may be recalled that petitions to declare the PTI intra-party elections null and void were filed by party founder member Akbar S. Babar, in which it was requested that the party should not be allowed to use the election symbol ‘Bila’ until conducting transparent intra-party elections. be given

The petitioner had claimed that the PTI election was mere pretense, deceit and a failed attempt to deceive the Election Commission, the fraudulent election process deprived the PTI members of their right to vote and participate in the election.

It should be noted that the Election Commission had ordered on November 23 that Tehreek-e-Insaf should hold party elections within 20 days to retain the bat as its election symbol.

After the Election Commission’s order, PTI had said that Imran Khan will not participate in the intra-party elections due to legal complications and Gohar Khan will contest the chairmanship election in his place.

After which PTI held intra-party elections on December 2 where Barrister Gauhar Khan was elected as the new chairman of PTI in place of Imran Khan.

PTI’s Chief Election Commissioner Niazullah Niazi while talking to the media after the intra-party election announced that Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has been elected unopposed as PTI Chairman and Umar Ayub Khan as Central General Secretary.
