Reinach (pta008/24.08.2022/08:00) – Aluflexpack AG, one of three divisions of Montana Tech Components AG owned by the Austrian entrepreneur Michael Tojner, achieved historically high sales of EUR 164.8 million in the first half of 2022 and was able to increase its adjusted EBITDA by 13.6%.

The net sales of Aluflexpack AG, which is listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange, increased by 30.2% to EUR164.8 million (H1 2021: EUR126.5 million). Adjusted for consolidation effects from the Turkish subsidiary acquired in May 2022, organic growth was 27.0%.

In the first half of 2022, Aluflexpack AG achieved an adjusted EBITDA of EUR 24.3 million, compared to EUR 21.4 million in the same period of 2021, which corresponds to an increase of 13.6%.

The strongest growth was achieved in the first half of 2022 in the pharmaceutical end market (59%). In the “Other food” end-market such as baby food, beverages or jams, Aluflexpack saw significant growth of 58%, followed by growth in the confectionery (24%), dairy (33%), pet food (22%) and other non-food end-markets -Products (28%) such as cosmetics or detergents.

Aluflexpack AG updates forecast
With the publication of the business figures for the first half of 2022, Aluflexpack will update the forecast. Net sales are expected to be between EUR 320-350 million (previously: EUR 310-330 million), the adjusted EBITDA for the full year 2022 between EUR 39-44 million (previously: EUR 35-40 million).

New strategy 2025: Net sales to be increased to EUR 500 million
With the newly presented Strategy 2025, the company wants to secure its position at the top of the industry in the long term. In addition to new accents in sustainability and product innovation, a strengthening of organization and efficiency, Aluflexpack wants to continue to position itself as a solution-oriented provider of high-quality flexible packaging and barrier solutions and thus strengthen business in existing and new markets. Net sales are to be increased to EUR 450-500 million by 2025. At the same time, Aluflexpack AG has set itself the goal of achieving an EBITDA margin of between 14-16% by 2025.

Montana Tech Components AG with the three divisions Aluflexpack AG, Montana Aerospace AG and VARTA AG generated total sales of EUR 1.1 billion in the second quarter of 2022 (+26.8% compared to June 30, 2021). The EBITDA in the first half of the year amounted to EUR 154.8 million (+11.6%).
