PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero) (PT SMI) recorded good performance in 2023. The Company’s revenue jumped by 22.8% last year. PT SMI posted revenue of IDR 7.6 trillion, an increase compared to the previous year’s revenue of IDR 6.2 trillion.
This was conveyed by the Director of Operations and Finance of PT SMI Darwin Trisna Djajawinata in a Media Briefing event as well as Breaking the Fast with the Media, Wednesday (27/3) 27 March 2024, at the PT SMI office, Sahid Sudirman Center, Jakarta.
Darwin said that PT SMI was able to encourage revenue growth thanks to the hard work of all SMIers, the term for PT SMI employees.
“We are certainly happy with our performance achievements last year, which once more recorded revenue growth. This cannot be separated from the hard work of SMIers, and also the support from stakeholders. But of course we are not satisfied here, because we are committed to continuing to grow, and can be even better this year,” explained Darwin.
The Company’s Gross Income in 2023 also increased compared to the previous year, namely by 21.4%, up from IDR 3.1 trillion in 2022, to IDR 3.8 trillion in 2023.
In addition, in 2023, PT SMI’s financing and investment activities will contribute to the development of infrastructure projects worth IDR 727.3 trillion. The financing commitment throughout last year was IDR 137.7 trillion. Meanwhile, the outstanding financing and investment figure is IDR 91.3 trillion.

Meanwhile, Gross Disbursement for 2023 is IDR 15.3 trillion, which consists of disbursement to Business Entities worth IDR 15 trillion and to Regional Governments amounting to IDR 255 billion.
In 2024, PT SMI also remains committed to maintaining consistent growth and improving its performance. PT SMI President Director, Edwin Syahruzad said, the Company has prepared strategic plans and initiatives to be the focus this year.
“The Company’s Long Term Plan 2024-2028 has just received approval from shareholders. “Based on the RJPP, PT SMI will increase its portfolio in expansion and leading sectors, for example water, health and waste management, which are considered underserved sectors but actually have a high socio-economic impact,” said Edwin.

Apart from that, PT SMI will also strengthen public transformation through the Loan Program, public financing strategies with clustering, as well as strengthening research capacity through the SMI Institute.
Organizational strengthening is also carried out to support public transformation, including a global secondment program to the World Bank for the Cross Learning Program related to public financing.
In terms of energy transition, the Company will strengthen its role as Energy Transition Mechanism Country Platform Manager.
PT SMI is also preparing to establish a Trust Fund, which will start in 2023 with the issuance of the P2SK Law. The aim of establishing this Trust Fund is to manage grant funds to support
infrastructure development in Indonesia. The company will also play an active role in supporting the acceleration of infrastructure provision in the National Capital City (IKN), one of which is through the Unsolicited PPP scheme. (RO/Z-1)
