“Psychology of attention”: how to concentrate better?

Can’t help but pick up your cell phone while you’re watching a movie? Are you reading the same page of this novel several times because your mind keeps wandering or thinking regarding everything you need to do today? It can be difficult to stay attentive and focused, but when this occurs repeatedly, it is called attention deficit disorder, with or without hyperactivity (ADHD). If this disorder is well documented when it affects children, it is much less so for adults.

Why are some people no longer able to concentrate? What situations can cause concentration problems? How to (re)learn to focus your attention on your activity?
