The HUG Addictions Service offers to treat addictions but also phobias using virtual reality. So I tested their method to “cure” my arachnophobia.

The night is far from silent in the Amazon rainforest. Monkeys and nocturnal birds respond to each other. The crickets chirp in a darkness that only the beams of our flashlights can counter. As darkness reigns, the spiders dance. Or rather they weave, hunt and parade. Jorge, who knows the forest like the back of his hand, makes sure to show them to us.
