Dr. Menen Abdel Maksoud, Secretary General of the General Secretariat revealed for mental health Addiction treatment, affiliated to the Ministry of Health, provides psychological support services to returnees from Sudan at the Arqin and Qastal crossings.

Providing psychological support to returnees from Sudan

Dr. Munen Abdel-Maqsoud explained to Cairo 24 that what the returnees from Sudan went through, leaving their homes and moving from one place to another creates, in general, severe pressure and tension on the individual, which requires providing first psychological support or what is called first psychological aid.

The Secretary General of the Mental Health Secretariat added that the Secretariat has trained teams of psychiatrists on initial psychological support at Aswan Mental Health Hospital, to support returnees from Sudan, stressing that all medical teams in primary care centers and hospitals in Aswan Governorate will be trained on initial psychological support.

Dr. Munen Abdel Maqsoud confirmed that all returnees from Sudan are aware of the existence of a clinic waiting for them to provide psychological support to those who wish to do so at the hands of specialists, in addition to the existence of psychological tests according to the case and its needs, noting that the most important step in psychological treatment and overcoming its effects is talking about what one feels. with it.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health and Population announced the installation of 9 water treatment plants, and the distribution of 132 dialysis machines to hospitals in all governorates of the Republic during the first quarter of this year, with the aim of improving, developing and raising the efficiency of medical services provided to patients.
