After participatory research, which made it possible to develop and then validate this somatic health self-questionnaire, intended for people affected by mental disorders, it is now available for free download. The Hauts-de-France Mental Disability Resource Center (Crehpsy), pilot of the “My physical health” research group, presents this tool.

People affected by severe mental disorders have an average mortality rate 2 to 3 times higher than that of the general population, which results in a reduction of 10 to 20 years of life expectancy (1).

An inclusive and participatory research group, made up of people affected by mental disorders, members of Crehpsy Hauts-de-France and Laurent Lecardeur (Ph.D. researcher) created a questionnaire using the method of Patient reported outcomes measures (Proms) and validated, with other persons concerned, the relevance and acceptability of the latter. This self-assessment questionnaire explores physical health from different angles: preventing and endangering factors, blood tests, sleep, links with general practitioners and specialists, information on somatic health, etc.

In a desire to make the voices of people affected by mental disorders heard and to make tools resulting from their work freely accessible to as many people as possible, this questionnaire can be downloaded freely and free of charge by all. on the Crehpsy website.
