PSV’s new signings from Valencia, Boscagli and Mauro Junior are out

Thanks to two goals by Ismael Saibari, PSV booked a 2-1 friendly victory over Valencia on Saturday. All goals were scored in the first half. It was PSV’s last test of strength for the Johan Cruijff Shield, which is scheduled for Sunday.

PSV took the lead early in the match via the Moroccan midfielder. The assist was from Jerdy Schouten. The Spaniards then responded via Sergi Canos. But after less than half an hour of play, the final score was already on the board. Saibari this time completed a good combination with Luuk de Jong.

PSV could have scored more, but their sights were not sharp enough. The practice victory was marred by the absence of Olivier Boscagli and Mauro Júnior. Both defenders had to leave the field before half-time with injuries. In the second half, Joey Veerman also made his comeback in the PSV shirt. He replaced Schouten in midfield.

Teze enjoys newcomer Flamingo

“We’ll have to wait and see tomorrow how bad it is,” Bosz said about Mauro Júnior’s injury. He also couldn’t say much about Boscagli’s injury. Jordan Teze played against Valencia next to newcomer Ryan Flamingo. The cooperation on the right side of the defense went well, Teze noted. The defender trained by PSV confirmed that he will not leave in this transfer window.

“He is a very good player with and without the ball. He immediately feels very comfortable in the team. I think you can see that. For me it is also very nice to play with,” said the right back, who is impressed by Flamingo’s passing.

Bosz saw against Valencia that the playing patterns are well established. “Especially in the attack, but also in the build-up. How we play out under certain pressure. Then you saw some things come back. That has to do with a number of boys who are back,” the trainer refers to Schouten and Veerman.

PSV can now focus on the Johan Cruijff Shield. On Sunday 4 August, the national champion will play cup winner Feyenoord at home.
