If you’re looking forward to the PlayStation VR 2 headset and loved Firewall Zero Hour, this news is for you. Sony has just announced on its PlayStation Blog the arrival of Firewall Ultra, a PlayStation 5 exclusive.

Gameplay for a PSVR 2 game

After getting their hands on Sony’s very first virtual reality headset, the PSVR, First Contact Entertainment is back to offer gamers Firewall Ultra. Expected on PSVR 2, this sequel to Firewall : Zero Hour is a multiplayer FPS that aims to “push the boundaries” of the genre.

To achieve such a goal, we learn that the title (which unfortunately does not yet have a release date) will use all the features of the VR headset. We learn in particular that it will integrate 4K (watch the trailer in 4K), but also HDR, and that all the character models have been completely reworked.

The game takes place five years following the original adventure. The contractors and places you love have evolved to adapt to the new generation. Since PSVR 2 offers significantly higher visual fidelity thanks to 4K and HDR, we have completely reworked all character models. Frank Marm, Community Manager, First Contact Entertainment

Also note that we will find the cards of the first opus, but that these will be arranged differently and will benefit from new textures to, once once more, make the most of the capacity of PlayStation VR 2.

The rules have changed

For those who have already spent many hours on the first opus, know that the rules have changed to make this sequel more competitive. From now on, the title will therefore have dedicated servers, but will also and above all offer several rounds within the same game. To win a match, therefore, it will be necessary to succeed two out of three rounds.

Finally, Firewall Ultra will integrate a PvE experience that will put team play at the forefront and will use the PlayStation VR2 Sense feature as well as eye movement tracking. Just by moving your eyes, it will be possible, for example, to change weapons or display HUD indicators thanks to the cameras integrated into the PSVR 2 headset.
