PSV beat Groningen, 6-0, on the 21st day of Eredivisie, the Dutch football D1. The young Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko distinguished himself with a goal for PSV, which temporarily goes back on the podium. Johan Bakayoko and Thorgan Hazard were both present at the start of the meeting.
Luuk de Jong opened the hostilities with a goal in the first half (27th), but it was in the second half that most of the action took place. Xavi Simons scored the second goal from the restart (46th) and Braithwaite imitated him (69th) before Johan Bakayoko further increased the score in favor of the Eindhoven club (73rd).
Fabio Silva, who played at Anderlecht during the first part of the season, scored his first goal in his new colors (84th) and Til inflicted the final blow (88th).
Thorgan Hazard was substituted at half-time, while Johan Bakayoko stayed on the pitch for the whole game. Earlier in the evening, Nijmegen and Cambuur drew 0-0. Landry Dimata played the entire match for the NEC.
PSV temporarily takes 3rd place in the standings with 42 points, behind Feyenoord (43 points) and ahead of Ajax (40 points) who both have one game less. Nijmegen are in the middle of the standings, 10th with 24 points. Groningen is last, with only 13 points, tied with Cambuur, 17th.
