Tips for psoriasis patients during intercourse
1- Talk to your partner
The patient with psoriasis must reassure his partner that this disease is not transmitted through kisses and hugs, so that he does not feel afraid to engage in intimacy with him.
2- Choose the right underwear
It is best for a psoriasis patient to wear silk, linen, or cotton underwear during intercourse, because synthetic fabrics, such as nylon and polyester, raise the temperature of the lower body and stick to dry, cracked skin.
3- Intercourse in the dark
If a psoriasis patient is embarrassed by the appearance of their skin, they can overcome this by having sex in the dark or under dim lights.

4- Use lubricants
A psoriasis patient can avoid feeling pain during intercourse, through the use of sexual lubricants, because they reduce friction during the process of penetration of the penis into the vaginal opening.
Natural oils have a similar effect to sexual lubricants, such as coconut oil, as they contribute to moisturizing the skin, calming burning and relieving itching in a psoriasis patient.
5- Create the mood
Before engaging in sexual intercourse, a psoriasis patient should prepare the mood for intimacy, by listening to calming music or inhaling calming scents, such as lavender.
6- Regular treatment
It is necessary for a psoriasis patient to get regular treatments prescribed by a doctor, to improve symptoms, and then have better intimacy.
