PSL Team: Shadab Khan Captain, Mohammad Rizwan 12th Player

The ninth season of the Pakistan Super League has ended with Islamabad United’s last-ball victory over Multan Sultans in the final.

Shadab Khan, who made Islamabad United the champion for the third time, has also been appointed as the captain of the team consisting of players selected from all the teams of the Pakistan Super League.

Five players from Multan Sultans, three from Islamabad United, two from Peshawar Zalmi and one from Karachi Kings have been included in the PSL 9 team.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board, the team was selected by a panel headed by Usman Wahla (Director International Cricket) and its independent members included commentators Danny Morrison, Mark Butcher, Arooj Mumtaz and Tariq Saeed.

During the selection process the independent panel considered various aspects of T20 cricket including consistency, impact on the team and the overall game and the best possible team combination.

Shadab Khan was also adjudged the Man of the Tournament for his all-round performance with 305 runs and 14 wickets in 12 matches.

Apart from them, Imad Wasim and Naseem Shah from Islamabad United have also been included in the team.

Imad Wasim played a key role in his franchise’s victory in PSL 9 and his unbeaten 19 off 17 balls with five wickets from four overs in the final saw Multan Sultans down by two wickets. had to do

Among them are Usman Khan who scored 430 runs, two centuries, two fifties, Chris Jordan who took six wickets and vice-captain David Wiley who took 15 wickets for Multan Sultans. Apart from them, two local players are Osama Mir and Iftikhar Ahmed.

Usama Mir tops the bowling chart with 24 wickets in 12 matches and his best bowling performance is six wickets for 40 runs in a match while Iftikhar Ahmed scored 259 runs while batting aggressively in the tournament.

However, Multan Sultans captain Muhammad Rizwan has been declared as the 12th player of PSL 9.

Karachi Kings’ emerging category player Irfan Khan is also included in the team, who scored 171 runs at a strike rate of 140.16 and also took eight catches.

Peshawar Zalmi’s opening duo Babar Azam and Saeem Ayub also made it to the team. Right-handed Babar Azam topped the batting charts with 569 runs in 11 matches at an average of 56.9 and a strike rate of 142.6.

He also scored a century and five fifties during the tournament.

22-year-old Saim Ayub, who supported him, scored 345 runs at a strike rate of 157.53 in 11 matches and also took eight wickets.
