The General Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep is certain not to take part in the 2024 Pilkada contest. Kaesang is said to prefer to concentrate on business and taking care of his family.
“After the Constitutional Court’s decision, whatever the results of the KPU and DPR RI consultations next week, I can assure you that Kaesang Pangarep will not run in the 2024 Pilkada,” said Raja Juli in his statement, Saturday (24/8).
He ensured that Kaesang always obeys the constitution. Raja Juli emphasized that the judicial review process to the Supreme Court has not been carried out and is not related to Kaesang. However, he ensured that from the start Kaesang had no interest in running in the 2024 Pilkada.
“It needs to be reaffirmed that the judicial review to the Supreme Court was not carried out by Mas Kaesang and is not at all related to our General Chair,” he emphasized.
He admitted that PSI had encouraged Kaesang to run in the 2024 Pilkada after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the age limit for regional head candidates. PSI, he said, saw the ruling as an opportunity for Kaesang to run.
“Although it is not 100 percent certain (either from Mas Kaesang or the aspirations of the parties in KIM Plus to nominate Mas Kaesang in Central Java) as the party’s secretary general I know that one of our administrative staff took the initiative to help Mas Kaesang take care of the Pilkada administrative requirements,” said Raja.
Raja Juli also emphasized that the administration requirements for advancing in the Central Java Pilkada had been carried out before the Constitutional Court’s decision. (Sru/P-2)
