Sergio Ramos’ situation at Paris Saint-Germain is currently very uncertain. The contract of the Spanish player will come to an end on June 30, and the leaders of the Parisian club are still undecided as to the possibility of keeping it. Even if Sergio Ramos had an excellent season with the Parisian team, it seems that his future is only possible under certain conditions.
A salary of €10 million per season
According to daily information Sport, PSG do not intend to continue paying more than 10 million euros per season to Sergio Ramos. The extension of his contract would only be possible if the player agrees to significantly revise his salary requirements. This approach would be part of an overall desire to reduce the club’s costs and salaries. The Parisians might also benefit from the fact that Sergio Ramos doesn’t have many attractive offers on the table.
The media report that PSG are happy with Sergio Ramos’ performance this season. The native of Camas took part in 36 matches, all competitions combined, scored 2 goals and delivered 1 assist. The Spaniard is reportedly still unwilling to leave Europe, despite some exotic touches.
As a reminder, PSG has secured the services of Sergio Ramos for free, at the end of his contract with Real Madrid. The player has since played 49 games. The former Spanish international (180 caps, 23 goals) has enormous experience to share with young Parisians: he notably won 4 Champions Leagues, 1 World Cup and 2 Euros.
It therefore remains to be seen whether he will accept the terms set by Parisian decision-makers, who are being forced to cut spending due to the pressure of UEFA Financial Fair Play.
