PSG supporters banned from traveling to Lyon this Sunday

The supporters of Paris SG will not be able to accompany their team to Lyon on Sunday for the 20th day of L1 because of a “real and serious risk of clash between the supporters of the two clubs”, according to a decree of the Ministry of the Interior published this Saturday in the Official Journal.

“The individual or collective movement, by any means, of any person availing himself of the quality of supporter of Paris-Saint-Germain or behaving as such, is prohibited between the municipalities of the region Ile-de-France, of a on the one hand, and the communes of Décines-Charpieu, Meyzieu and Lyon (Rhône), on the other hand, ”specifies the decree.

The text underlines that the movements of the PSG are “frequently a source of disturbances to public order”, such as brawls, violence once morest the police or the throwing of firecrackers, smoke or agricultural bombs, causes of injuries. or fire starts, like the recent incidents that have punctuated French football, forcing the league to react.

Frequent violence, on both sides

The Interior Ministry also notes that during meetings in Lyon, some supporters of Olympique Lyonnais “frequently demonstrate their violent behavior, manifested around and in the stadiums”. During the last meeting in the two cities, the two groups of supporters had agreed to meet to do battle.
