PSG: Danilo placed in solitary confinement as a precaution

Affected by four cases of Covid-19 within its professional workforce, PSG might have a fifth in the coming hours. Affected by symptoms corresponding to the coronavirus, the Portuguese Danilo Pereira was placed in solitary confinement as a precaution this Sunday while awaiting a new test on Monday.

By then, the midfielder has been placed outside the group called up for the trip to Vannes this Monday evening in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. PSG had acted similarly with Leandro Paredes before the last Ligue 1 match in Lorient (1-1), on December 23.

Danilo Pereira had reunited with his teammates on Saturday for the resumption of collective training. He had taken part in it in the normal way. But this Sunday, the appearance of symptoms pushed the club to be extremely cautious. Lionel Messi, isolated in Argentina, Juan Bernat, Sergio Rico and Nathan Bitumazala are the other confirmed cases in the red and blue group. They will all be absent from the trip to Brittany on Monday.

“This is the risk that everyone runs in football at the world level, breathed Mauricio Pochettino this Sunday at a press conference. Contact is inevitable in football, as in moments in common. It is clear that there are more risks. We have taken all the necessary measures to prevent a player from transmitting his virus to others. I do what the people in the medical services tell us to do ”.
