Besides, this one is also a GOTY.
Annapurna, the benchmark indie label
Over the years, we have constantly praised the merits of Annapurna Interactive. Founded in 2016, the publisher has since been a hit with original, innovative, poetic games…in short, titles of rare quality. We note in particular Outer Wilds which received Game of the Year at the 2019 BAFTAs, Sayonara Wild Heartsthe PC port of Journey, Ashen, Donut County, Solar Ash,12 Minutes or even more recently the game with a very cute cat which is a hit on Steam, Stray
You will understand, with Annapurna, we are dealing with sacred games that mark and stand out from the usual video game productions. From year to year, the publisher offers us a string of original nuggets expected by a growing community. This year, Annapurna held a showcase to unveil its upcoming projects.
In addition to the new games, two announcements had enough to catch the attention of PS5 and Xbox Series players. First, the arrival of Outer Wilds on the latest generation consoles. But it’s not the only GOTY to arrive on its machines! One of the very first games published by Annapurna, crowned with the same award as Outer Wilds, also joins the Next-Gen catalog.
A GOTY in 4K 60 FPS
PS5 and Xbox Series players can now explore What Remains of Edith Finchall in 4K and 60 FPS. A nice gift from Annapurna for those who haven’t touched it yet, just like for the community of fans who had already tried the adventure when the title was released in 2017.
Narrative Adventure Game, What Remains of Edith Finch puts you in the shoes of the eponymous protagonist, who has gone in search of her past and that of her family members who have all met a tragic fate. Superbly produced, full of brilliant ideas in the service of a moving story, What Remains of Edith Finch is a unique game, awarded in 2017 by the BAFTA for the best game of the year. This is Annapurna’s first success, before the publisher confirms its status as an independent reference in the following years.
The good news as a bonus concerns owners of the title on Xbox One and PS4. The PS5 and Xbox Series upgrade is free. The game is available now.
