Plagued by the pandemic, the PS5 and the Xbox Series S / X should normally have crushed everything in their path. But the year 2022 could – finally – turn the world of video games into a new era.
To repeat, not sure that Sony and Microsoft are choosing the same strategy. In November 2020, the two video game giants decided to launch, almost simultaneously, their console next gen, supposed to invade our living rooms at the latest for the holidays. More than a year after their release, the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X are still almost impossible to find on the market. Blame it on the health crisis and a shortage of semiconductors which has affected all production. Today, to hope to acquire them, it is necessary either to compete in reactivity to snatch the models put on sale in the trade, or to pay a high price on second-hand sites.
A fiasco? For those who are still on the hunt for theirs, certainly. For Sony and Microsoft, not necessarily.
