We’ve always heard that curiosity is a bad thing. Sometimes, it is therefore better to refrain from buying games under the pretext that you do not know: for this game at least, you will have been warned.
Summary
- A game that can damage your PlayStation 5
- “A total failure”
A game that can damage your PlayStation 5
The digital stores of console manufacturers are full of games of all kinds: blockbusters not to be missed under any circumstances, nuggets of independent games to discover or even unattractive titles. We might also add a fourth storage to those mentioned above: the category of games that should be avoided. Fortunately, the number of titles to be part of it are rare but they exist: this is the case of video games Aliens, which has nothing to do with the film saga. In addition to having gone unnoticed (we will discuss its “press review” later in the article), the game would even go so far as to cause numerous malfunctions on players’ consoles. Witness one of the many comments on the Conkerax video on the subject:
Yes this game is a killer console (…) my sister bought it and had the same problem as you, once dead freeze and it stays like that. Except that she had the bad idea to leave it and wait to see if it went away: once she got back her ps5 was HOT.
An overheating problem that comes with another big problem: it seems that the PlayStation 5 stops working every time the player dies. It must then be restarted several times, which can cause a lot of damage.
“A total failure”
Besides the (major) malfunctions of Aliens, this PlayStation 5 exclusive might get away with the quality of its game. Unfortunately, that is not the case for this Alien game. In its test of the game in June 2021, the media Fingerguns mentions in conclusionthat Aliens is an assemblage of Unity assets with no artistic intent or commitment to player entertainment” while indicating that the title is “functional but is a total failure in all other areasHere is its synopsis:
Aliens is a first person shooter where the player must survive and save the world from an alien invasion in this single player campaign game that tests your combat skills to the limit. Having just been transported to one of three parallel universes teeming with aliens and with limited ammo, the only way to survive is to find the hidden weapons and ammo in order to kill the boss.
In any event, Fingerguns joins Conkerax and both advise once morest buying this game. This still raises a question: how might this type of problem pass the tests of a digital store like that of the PlayStation Store? What, perhaps, to join Alex Neil in the cause: she filed a complaint once morest Sony for abuse of a dominant position via the PlayStation Store.
