Today, whether on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X, games generally offer two display modes (Performance and Quality) and we finally know which mode is most in demand!

New options are coming

With the arrival of the ninth generation of machines, new options have appeared in our favorite video games. In effect, today, any big title like Horizon: Forbidden West offers two visual modes: Performance and Quality. The first allows, once morest a lower resolution, to shoot in 60 frames per second. In other words, with the Performance mode, everything is more fluid. The second, meanwhile, favors the resolution and quality of the graphics over the fluidity of the action, since everything runs at only 30fps. If you want to play in 4K, this is the mode for you.

Today, on Reddit, a user proposed a poll: he asked PlayStation 5 players which mode they prefer. And the answer is unanimous!

Performance vs. Quality!

If we might expect to see two very distinct camps, the result of this survey is quite different: the vast majority admitted to preferring Performance mode to Quality mode. Some also answer that the 60 fps is much more noticeable than a 4K resolution or ray-tracing. Others add that the Quality mode is useless as the games are already magnificent, no matter what.

Still others say it’s hard to “go back” once you’ve tasted 60 frames per second.

As you can see, opinions are almost unanimous! Players largely prefer fluidity to visual slap. And you, when you play on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, are you more in Performance or Quality mode?
