PS VR 2 copies its little comrades – Sony Interactive Entertainment, Playstation VR2 – News

Sony keeps swinging information on the future PS VR 2 while refraining from specifying the most important: the price and the release date. Today we learned that as for the Quest 2, the helmet will allow you to see the real world in black and white thanks to the cameras of the helmet in order for example to open a beer. On the other hand, it will not be possible to register, Sony probably wanting to avoid having to moderate adult content.

The same cameras will also map his living room to avoid bumping into furniture. We can refine the limits created by hand by drawing them with the controllers, again as for the Quest 2. Finally, it will be possible to display non-VR content in the headset (“flat” games, interface, Netflix and company…) via a virtual screen that will simulate 1920×1080 with support for HDR and 24/60/120 Hz.

We hope that PS VR 2 will give a boost to the somewhat moribund V market dominated by an actor who doesn’t really seem to know where he’s going and who sells a headset with mobile phone gear that levels the graphics down. Valve filed a patent for an all-in-one headset like the Quest 2, but even if it comes out they will only be able to produce 4 per week so we won’t be much further ahead.
