Proximus ends “unlimited surfing” for some of its customers

A page is turning at Proximus with the disappearance of “favorite applications” and their unlimited surfing.

This August 31 marks the end of “favorite apps” at Proximus, an advantage that allowed the operator’s customers subscribing to the “Epic” packages to benefit from unlimited access to certain apps, regardless of the limits of their package.

Concretely, subscribers might use different apps like Facebook, Twitter or Spotify unlimited, but were limited to very specific quotas for other uses. A methodology that did not please the regulator, who had already expressed his concerns for the neutrality of the service.

A recent European decision prohibits the use of certain applications unlimitedly and free of charge. “Therefore, from 01/09/2022, the unlimited surfing volume on the favorite app will be replaced by additional volume valid for all apps and all surfing: +1 GB for Mobilus S and +2 GB for Mobilus M”indicates the operator.

Epic subscriptions have also disappeared from the Proximus catalog since last July.
