Ricardo Kaufmann, the provincial senator in office for the Garay department, died
The legislator was 80 years old and was experiencing health problems. He had been a senator since 2007 and had already announced that he would not run for re-election.
The senator for the Garay department, Ricardo Kaufmann, passed away this Sunday. The news was confirmed by his own son Carlos, who dedicated heartfelt words to him through social networks.
“You left, dignified and happy, as you lived. Until the last moment with the same bonhomie, utopias and love that you knew how to share with generosity and humility. We will remember you in each work you left behind, in each tree you planted, in tears and smiles from your people, who love you. See you always, beautiful genius. Thank you for so much,” he wrote on his Facebook account.
It was already a decision that Kaufmann, 80, would not seek re-election in the Upper House. As a pre-candidate to succeed him, the aforementioned son of his, Carlos, currently undersecretary of communes of the provincial government, presents himself.
Kauffman was the senator of the Garay department since 2007, being re-elected three times. In addition, he held the same position in the return of democracy in 1983for which he was recognized by the Legislature along with his peers at that time.
Trajectory
Kaufmann held various positions in the three powers of the provincial sphere. He was Minister of Education and Culture of the Province; Executive Director of the Legal Department of Banco de Santa Fe SA; and General Attorney of the National University of the Coast (UNL).
Lawyer graduated from the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, he also taught at that and other houses of study, giving classes on Argentine History and Civic Instruction.
The legislator was the author of various books such as “The death of the Count”, “The captive of the Indians”, “Parallel of three lives that passed through the coast” and “Milestones of Santa Fe La Vieja”. He also published journalistic notes in provincial media.
goodbyes
The province’s Minister of Public Management, Marcos Corach, fired the senator considering that “a piece of history of Santa Fe Peronism left.”
“His legacy will be immortalized in the shorthand versions of the Senate and in the heart of each inhabitant of the Garay department,” he wrote on his social networks.
For his part, Ignacio Martínez Kerz, secretary of Socio-Community Practices, published: “I deeply regret the death of Ricardo Kaufmann, a historic senator from the Garay department and a great Peronist leader. My condolences to his family and loved ones, in particular to comrade Carlos Kaufmann in this moment of pain.”
“I deeply regret the death of the senator for the Garay Department, Ricardo Kaufmann. A man of great general culture, convictions and a career in pursuit of the common good. My condolences to his son Carlos, family and friends at this difficult time. RIP”, Andrés Golosetti, mayor of Casilda, said goodbye.
