On the 29th, Governor Zhao Long presided over an executive meeting of the provincial government, listened to a special lecture on the rule of law on the “Regulations on Letters and Visits”, and studied the preparations for the 7th World Fujian Business Conference, services and guarantees for veterans.
The meeting invited Li Wenwen, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council and Director of the State Bureau of Letters and Calls, to give a special counseling report via video link. Li Wenwen made an in-depth and systematic exposition of the background process, significance, main content, key and difficult points of the “Regulations on Letters and Visits”, and discussed specific suggestions on how to study, publicize and implement them.
Zhao Long pointed out in his speech that the “Regulations on Letters and Visits” is the first intra-Party regulation to comprehensively regulate the work of letters and visits since the founding of the People’s Republic of China. The idea reflects the people-centered development idea, and a series of important concepts and major practices such as “four grassroots”, “four thousand families”, “immediately do it, and do it right away” created by General Secretary Xi Jinping during his work in Fujian. In the same line, it is of milestone significance for upholding and strengthening the party’s overall leadership of the petition work, rationalizing the petition system and mechanism, and further standardizing and strengthening the petition work in the new era. All departments at all levels in the province should thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important thought on strengthening and improving the people’s petition work, conscientiously study, publicize and implement the “Regulations on Petition Work”, and firmly grasp the “three important” positioning and “five insistence” of petition work. “Principles and “Four Aspects” content, earnestly enhance the ideological, political and action consciousness of doing a good job in petition work, further understand the deterministic meaning of the “two establishments”, strengthen the “four consciousnesses”, and strengthen the “four consciousnesses”. Self-confidence”, achieve “two maintenance”, and take practical actions to welcome the victory of the Party’s 20th National Congress.
Zhao Long emphasized that the petition work is the work of the masses. It is an important work to understand people’s conditions, concentrate people’s wisdom, safeguard people’s interests, and unite people’s hearts. It is also an important way to accept people’s supervision and improve government work. We must adhere to the people-centered approach, coordinate development and security, focus on key and difficult points, resolve conflicts and prevent risks, and promote the high-quality development of petition work in the new era.
