One in three children would not go on vacation. Faced with this observation, the Secours Populaire Wallonie-Bruxelles has been organizing an outing for the most precarious families for more than 20 years. This time the day was held at the Caves of Han.
Coralie participates. This mother has never been able to offer her three children a vacation: “It’s too expensive and on top of that I have cancer. This day allows us to relax and leave our worries at home. It does us a lot of good.”
Her 10-year-old daughter, Lilou admits that she was very bored during these two summer months: “Here it’s great because we make friends and in addition I was able to observe lots of animals that we are not used to seeing. “
This year, between 400 and 500 children take part in the holiday forgotten day. The activity is almost entirely financed by private donations.
